Join us for the Woolly Mammoth Day Breakfast on January 28, 2017.  The breakfast will be at the Northwood High School Cafeteria from 8:30 to 10:30 AM.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and are available at the Museum.  A country style breakfast is prepared by the Madam Russell Memorial United Methodist Church Men.  In addition to breakfast and gathering with friends,  there will be entertainment and door prizes.  At 10:30 Woolly and Little Salty will make their prediction for the coming of Spring.  Meal tickets are also good for admission to the Museum on that day.  ...

Winter Wonderland of Trees

Be sure to visit the Museum of the Middle Appalachians before the end of the year to experience the Winter Wonderland of Trees! With participation from the community, the Christmas tree display has been growing every year. For many families, visiting the Christmas exhibit has become a holiday tradition. The annual Winter Wonderland and Christmas Tree Exhibit at the Museum of the Middle Appalachians in Saltville is open to the public and will continue through Jan. 4, 2017. Twenty-four trees, decorated by local businesses, civic organizations, churches and school groups, can be seen Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 1-4 p.m. The exhibit also features wreaths made by local people and includes traditional Christmas displays. One tree is reserved for children to decorate with their ornaments.  Children are invited to bring an ornament of their choosing any time the museum is open and place it on the tree dedicated to children.
