Christmas is almost here!   It is time for the 12th annual 2018 Winter Wonderland of Christmas Trees at the Museum of the Middle Appalachians in Saltville.

The community is invited to decorate a themed or traditional tree, or one honoring a special person, group, or event to display in the Museum’s conference room during the 2018 Holiday Season.  In addition to trees, holiday wreaths can also be displayed.  The Winter Wonderland features a Nativity, carolers, snowmen, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, a Christmas village, and other traditional displays to create a festive and fun holiday experience for everyone.

The 2017 Winter Wonderland featured 25 beautiful and inspiring trees and wreaths.

Civic organizations, churches, businesses, industries, offices, schools, etc. are asked to decorate a tree with their theme, related logo, or items symbolic of the organization.  Themes can be whimsical, traditional, or unique.  Sponsors must provide their own tree, stand, skirt, an extension cord, and any items for under the tree.  Wreaths must be ready to hang.

Trees and wreaths can be set up beginning November 17, 2018 and removed after January 5, 2019. The Christmas Village grows bigger each year.

Special evening set-up Mon, Tues Nov 19, 20, from 4-8 PM.

The Winter Wonderland will be opened to the public on Friday, November 23, 2017, to put visitors and shoppers in a holiday mood. It will remain open through January 5, 2019.
