2017 Winter Wonderland
Christmas is coming fast and it is time for the annual Winter Wonderland at the Museum of the Middle Appalachians in Saltville.
You are invited to decorate a themed or traditional tree, or one honoring a special person, group, or event to display in the Museum’s conference room during this Holiday Season. In addition to trees, holiday themed wreaths can be displayed. The Winter Wonderland will also feature a nativity, carolers, snowmen, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, a Christmas village, and other traditional displays to create a festive and fun holiday experience for everyone.
Civic organizations, churches, businesses, industries, offices, schools, etc. are asked to decorate a tree with their theme, related logo, or items symbolic of the organization. Themes can be whimsical, traditional, or unique. Sponsors must provide their own tree, stand, skirt, an extension cord, and any items for under the tree. Wreaths must be ready to hang. Trees and wreaths can be set up beginning November 18, 2017 and removed after January 3, 2018. Contact the Museum to make arrangements to set up trees after 4:00 PM.
Christmas tree spaces are limited. Sign up early.
Trees and wreaths will be open to the public on Friday, November 24, 2017 to put visitors and shoppers in a holiday mood.
